Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Lnotxicated (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit or use our website and related services (the “Service”), wherever you are in the world.
Contact for privacy requests: privacy@lnotxicated.com (update this address before launch).
Information we collect
Account & profile data — if you sign in (for example email for magic-link authentication), we process identifiers needed to create and secure your account, and related profile fields you provide.
Content you submit — recipe submissions, comments, ratings, and similar community content, including moderation metadata.
Device / local data — information stored on your device such as theme preference, digital bar / shopping list data in local storage, and cookie / consent choices.
Usage & technical data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, diagnostics, and similar logs from our hosting and infrastructure providers.
Advertising & measurement data — when you consent (where required), advertising and analytics partners may collect identifiers, cookie IDs, device signals, and interaction data to show ads, limit ad frequency, and measure performance.
How we use information
We use information to:
- operate, secure, and improve the Service;
- authenticate users and prevent abuse;
- provide personalization such as your saved bar on a device;
- moderate community content;
- communicate about the Service when needed;
- show advertising and measure traffic when allowed by law and your choices;
- comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases (EEA/UK and similar)
Where GDPR / UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract — to provide requested features (account, submissions);
- Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, essential product analytics that are strictly necessary, and improving the Service in ways that do not override your rights;
- Consent — non-essential cookies, analytics, and advertising/personalization where required;
- Legal obligation — when the law requires retention or disclosure.
Sharing
We may share information with:
- infrastructure providers (for example hosting, database/auth such as Supabase, CDN/deploy platforms);
- advertising, attribution, and analytics partners when you have consented or when another lawful basis applies;
- professional advisors or authorities when legally required;
- a successor entity if we transfer the Service in a merger or acquisition.
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. Under some US state laws, “sale” or “sharing” can include certain advertising disclosures — see Your rights below.
International transfers
We and our providers may process data in countries other than yours (including the United States and EU). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or provider mechanisms designed for cross-border transfers.
Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above: account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward; community content until removed or as needed for safety/legal reasons; logs for shorter operational windows; consent records as needed to demonstrate compliance.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California and similar US state residents may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising.
To exercise rights, email privacy@lnotxicated.com. You may also use Cookie settings on the site for advertising/analytics preferences. You can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children & responsible use
The Service is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Alcohol-related content is for responsible adult use only.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy where permitted by law.
